What to expect this week!

Reading:
  • If you did not score well on the City of Ember whole book test, then you should consider making corrections to it. Today and tomorrow you may come into workroom and look over your test taking notes on what you need to study. On Friday you may come in after you have studied and make corrections on your test- not using the notes that you took earlier in the week.
  • There are vocabulary words that you need to have put in your reading log for the next story we are going to read on page 245.

- Fracture- break in a bone

- infection- germs invading a wound

- current- steady flow of water

- kayak- small, one-person boat

- handicapped- having a physical or mental problem

  • You may come into workroom to correct your SSR diary as well for a better grade.

Writing:

  • There are NO more spelling tests for this year. However, you are allowed to come into workroom on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays to retake any spelling test that you may need to bring your grade up.

  • There is homework in Health due on Wednesday (the next health class). You have to interview another person who is 18 years old or older about peer pressure.
  1. When you were a teenager, was there peer pressure? In what areas (clothes, drinking, smoking, etc.)?
  2. At what age do you remember bring most worried about what your friends thought of you?
  3. How did you resist peer pressure?
  4. What was your most embarrassing moment when you were a teen?

In Math we are learning about the X and Y axis and plotting points. We have just gone over lines and how to draw them within the quadrants.

Field Day is on June 11, 2009. If you are purchasing a field day shirt, please make sure your money is turned in by Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Be sure to choose the color of your homeroom.
