City of Ember vocabulary for chapters 1-5
Endeavor: an attempt; to try, to make an earnest effort, to strive
Plummet: to fall straight down quickly
Hoist: to lift up, especially with a pulley
Methodically: systematic, orderly
Pungent: powerful or strong odor or flavor
Social Studies: We are studying for the Chapter 2 test this week. The test will be on Thursday, January 15, 2009. Please make sure you are studying at home as well. If you have any questions about any of the content please see Mr. Hudson or me.
Writing: Tonight for homework you have to finish your directions to your house using 10 different prepositions and 5 different conjunctions. You need to circle your conjunctions and underline the prepositions. Do not count any repeated conjuctions or prepositions.
