Theme Strip Project

You and your group members will create a theme banner for one of the past three short stories we've read in class (not "The Cage"). Your banner must include the following:

1. A theme statement: this is the specific message about some part of human nature that you believe the author was writing about in the story. This will be the front of your banner-write BIG and BOLD. Be neat and creative.

2. Two DIRECT quotes (use EXACT words) from the story that prove your statement. This will be written on the back of your banner.

3. Connections-each person in the group must write 3-4 sentence paragraph explaining how theme statement connects to his/her life. This should be written on the back of the banner, along with the two quotes.

4. Write all group members names on the back of the banner.
